Well, this one dosen't, either. I don't believe that there is anything out there that can fix DVD's. I have DVD's that are only a couple of years old, and are already freezing in my player. Another reviewer says he buys one just to give it a whirl. That's what I have been doing, hoping it might just work. Lense cleaners don't work, either. I wish DVD's were never invented.
I could not get it to work. My son was given this product by a friend. He has used it to clean and restore some very scratched DVD and PS2 games. He loves it. He uses a little windex and turns the crank and they come out great.
Bought this to replace my old Disk Doctor. Works fine removing light scratched from my disks.
As far as ruined CD's, I can see this happening if you dont wet the disc or make more than one complete revolution of the cd with out wiping it off and re-wetting it (cd plastic grinds alread done area). I have been using this paticular style (cd vertical ) style since 2001. Yes i leaves lines going outward toward the edge of the cd , but this is INVISIBLE to the laser. if the wheel goes out (about 50 cd's) it just wont remove the scratch as well. use it , wet it , one complete rotation, wipe and enjoy.
When my husband got this for my birthday, I was disappointed. Sometimes it takes 2-3 passes through the machine, (mine is electric) but it's great. However, since I have repaired CDs and DVDs, I am so grateful. CDs from high school (over 15 years)which I could not listen to are great again, DVDs that skip badly and ready for the trash are watchable again. I have even repaired some of the Netflix DVDs I have gotten.I don't hesitate to recommend the $ be spent for this. I am sure, that until CD/DVD are obsolete, we will need a repair tool like this.
